Tuesday 09 July 2024

Cayden Tardiff has been named as the new Guernsey U16 manager.

It follows the departure of Jordan Kelly at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Tardif will be supported by Jason Leaman, Darren Cooley, and Jason Tardif.

“After a thorough review of the GFA High Performance and Representative structure and, having identified how we want these age groups and teams to develop in the coming years, we reached an agreement that Cayden was the right person to lead the Under 16 Representative age group for the 2024/25 season,” said GFA Chief Executive Gary Roberts.

“Cayden has accumulated a lot of experience in local football and also through coaching in the GFA Academy and supporting various GFA Representative teams in recent seasons. This experience, combined with the experience and skills of the coaching support team, provides confidence that this group of coaches is aligned with our aims and ambitions for this age group.”

Guernsey football is entering an exciting new chapter with the new Victoria Park facility set to open early in 2025.

“The appointment of a new coaching team for the Under 16 Representative group is another element of the GFA’s plans to ensure that we have the right people in position to support the development of Guernsey’s most talented players, along with achieving success on the pitch.”

Guernsey have not beaten Jersey at U16 level since 2017.
