Olly Cull will be supported by Fort Group as he begins training with the GB padel squad.

Cull is travelling to and from the UK for training sessions with the hope of making the team for national competitions.

He began playing the sport when he first moved to Guernsey in 2021 and is now ranked within the UK top 20.

Executive Chairman at Fort, Jos Ensink, said: “We are very excited for the opportunity to help Olly on his Team GB pathway for padel.

“We are committed to investing in exceptional talent across all spheres be it the professional industry or in personal pursuits and hope that with this joint venture, Olly can accomplish his ambition of competing consistently on the national and international stage.”

Cull recently obtained his best result this season in a Grade One tournament held in Jersey.

Teaming up with Pau Minano, Cull reached the men's final before losing out to Julien Suerin and Rafeal Vega 6-4, 6-2.

On the way, Cull and his partner, seeded six, beat the UK's top male pairing, Louie Harris and Chris Salisbury in a thrilling quarter-final clash.

He said: “The support I'm receiving from Jos and the team at Fort is very appreciated and I wouldn't be able to chase my goals without their help. Fort is a tight-knit company and I'm excited to become part of the wider team through this sponsorship.

“Many people have goals and I'm just glad they've taken a chance on me to try and reach mine.”

Cull is one of 10 professional players supported by R3 Sport, including several who represent Great Britain.
