Cricket: Guernsey Women sweep past RAF

Monday 01 July 2024

Guernsey women’s cricketers celebrated a cleansweep in their three march series against the RAF.

It started with a three wicket win in a close T20 clash at KGV on Friday evening.

The visitors ended their innings on 119-6, and Guernsey surpassed that with three wickets in hand.

It was the RAF who elected to bat first as the sides faced each other over 40 overs at the College Field on Saturday morning.

They were bowled out for 123, and Guernsey needed a last wicket stand of 20 to get over the line with 9.2 overs to spare.

Yesterday the sides played 30 overs.

This time Guernsey won the toss and went into bat first.

They were struggling on 48 for six before a 68 run partnership between Bex Hubbard and debutant Belle Otty.

Guernsey finished on 150-9 and the RAF came up just shy in their reply, posting 145-5.
