Cricket: Guernsey go into Jersey 50 Over clash on a high

Thursday 05 September 2024

Guernsey and Jersey have announced their squads for the upcoming Brooks Macdonald 50 Over Inter Insular.

It is the turn of Jersey Cricket to host the traditional season finale which will take place at the National Cricket Centre, Grainville, on Saturday.

There could be up to three debuts for Guernsey, with 17-year-olds Charlie Forshaw and Harry Johnson selected in the longer format for the first time, alongside 15-year-old Ed Robinson.

For Jersey, bowler Stan Norman will make his debut having come up through the age groups.

Jersey Interim Head Coach, Paul Hutchison said “This is my first experience of this respected fixture. The energy levels and anticipation have been building all week, our players are motivated and I’m looking forward to it.

“We approach the game knowing Guernsey will be on a high having qualified last week in the ICC T20 Europe sub regional tournament; we want to put on a strong performance for the crowds and the challenge they bring is good preparation for the Challenge League tournament later this month in Kenya.”

The game begins at 10:45.
