After some explosive batting this season, Tom Nightingale has been named as Guernsey Cricket’s Player of the Year.
Nightingale chalked up some notable records this year, with a strike rate of 205 and an average of just under 64 in the domestic Evening League.
Representing Guernsey, he also rattled up 99 not out and 132 against the Ireland Academy and a match-winning 61 off just 36 balls against Jersey in T20.
He picked up the prize at Guernsey Cricket’s annual Awards Night
Ex-island captain and current selector Stuart Le Prevost made the presentations.
Bex Hubbard was the Women’s Player of the Year.

Among her achievements was an unbeaten 48 against the RAF, where her bowling int he final over also helped secure a narrow win.
In the Nordic Cup she rattled up 51 not out off 33 balls, including nine fours, helping the side chase down 142 against the hosts Norway.
The Women’s Junior Player of the Year was Molly Robinson.
The 17-year-old was on fine form in Norway, scoring 27 against Estonia and 40 not out in a match winning 103-run partnership against the host country.
She was named MVP of the Nordic Cup and picked up two player of the match awards.
Robinson also contributed with the ball, including picking up four wickets against Jersey.
Luke Bichard was named as the overall Young Player of the Year on the men’s side for his work as an all-rounder with both Griffins and the island side.
