Taking inspiration from the lockdown

Monday 27 April 2020

Whilst his family run business has been closed over recent weeks, Dave Beausire has let his creativity flow, and penned a poem which he has shared with us, while challenging others to do the same.

He said: "I’ve been trying to inspire people to write poems especially those who never had like myself and thought with your following it might be something you would be interested to pursue.

"Here’s my poem. I challenge you all to write a poem, here’s mine:"

A dawn will break tomorrow

When the pain will start to ease

Of a virus that made earth stand still

And there was silence in the breeze

As the sun begins to rise

On an earth in early dew

Of humanity expanded

To the many not the few

To those who lost their loved ones

And those who fought the fight In saving many others

They really shone their light

Many years have passed us by

Since the whole world went to war

But this time it was different In the ways not seen before

No guns, no tanks, no fighting

Just a silent unseen haze

That stopped the world from working

And ended many days

But we must now remember

That the world has fixed before

So together we must fight on

As we have many times before.
