A number of events are being held in Guernsey today as the world marks International Women's Day.
Businesswomen are meeting while Guernsey Museums is opening the doors to its current exhibition, ‘Amazing Women’, for free.
The temporary exhibition by Olympia McEwan is in the greenhouse gallery, hosted by the Guernsey Arts Commission, where it features 15 portraits of Guernsey's key inspirational women. More than 100 students are expected through the doors today as part of a number of organised sessions to co-incide with International Women's Day.
Some of the inspirational women chosen as subjects for the exhibition will be there speaking about their lives, with Fine Art Curator Helen Conlon also speaking to the students about the art work which is on display until Sunday 11 March.
As part of events marking International Women’s Day, Deloitte is also hosting a private viewing of the Amazing Women exhibit.

Businesses across the islands are marking International Women's Day too. JT is among those "celebrating the diversity of its people", saying it has a workforce comprising of 25% women, well above the UK average for the technology industry.
JT says it recognises that diverse teams are known to be "more creative, more productive and more successful."
In a statement the technology firm said:
"In the UK, the number of women working in technology is significantly lower than most other work sectors, with just 17% of those working in the industry being female. However, as more is being done to encourage women to pursue careers in technology and IT roles, this is changing. Of the 167 women who work at JT, 77% are on permanent full-time contracts, 7% work in the traditionally male field of engineering, and 20% of JT’s current interns and graduates are female. There are ten females on JT’s leadership team."

We are committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance and have made an effort to ensure everyone feels valued. For example, we make sure new mothers and fathers are aware of our flexible working options, so they can work around their children. More than 13% of the JT female workforce are on our flexible working scheme while 15% work on a reduced-hour programme.”
