Bailiwick Express has landed on 'Planet Peewee' this week, with a new feature arriving from the famed cartoonist himself - who will be sharing his comical take on island life with us every Friday from now on.
You may recognise the name Peewee, and his work from elsewhere, as his drawings had been regularly published locally for 25 years, until corona virus started claiming its financial victims.
Express caught up with Peewee's alter-ego, Peter Flatres, as he put pencil to paper for this week's cartoon, where he told us "I enjoy cartooning as it appeals to my sense of humour."
That sense of humour has proven popular with readers elsewhere for two and a half decades so we're welcoming him to Express with open arms. But will he have enough ideas to take inspiration from at the moment?
"How do I choose topics for my cartoons? Cor heck! I just look at the news and what is happening and try to depict an amusing or different view on them.
"All that fills the news and people’s thoughts at the moment is the virus, it’s unavoidable I’m afraid. I wish there were other things I could use and I look very hard to use other things like what else the States are up to and depict it from the ordinary bystander's point of view."

Peewee told Express he is happy to be joining us, and we're very happy to be welcoming him to join us online.
"I am looking forward to joining you lot as you seem to be a very go ahead publication, let’s see where we go from there!"
