An urgent appeal has been made for riders to take part in this weekend's Donkey Derby in Guernsey.
The traditional annual event is being held at Saumarez Park this coming Saturday with a number of races that spectators can place a wager on.
Anyone who wants to be considered as a jockey can apply through the organisers, The Lions Club of Guernsey. All jockeys must have their parent/guardian's written consent.
Candidates must be under eight stone/50kgs and need to have some riding experience and need to own and wear their own 'properly fitting hat' which is compulsory. The organisers also recommend riders wear an approved back protector.
To apply to be a rider email Nell Stratford-Hall at nellroseshall@gmail.com or call her on 07781 422016 (after 18:00)
The Donkey Derby opens at 12:30 on Saturday with the first race at 13:30.
The annual event is the major fund-raiser for the Lions Club of Guernsey. The majority of the money raised will be used in Guernsey to support local charities and worthy causes.
