The Guernsey Youth Commission is looking for new volunteers.
It needs people to come forward to support them in a range of different ways, as volunteers at the Commission help play an essential role in ensuring it can provide its services to the young people of the Bailiwick.
The Commission is hosting two information events next week, on Thursday 12 September at 18:30 and on Saturday 14 September at 11:00 to talk to people about what being a volunteer means and requires.
A spokesperson said: "There are plenty of opportunities for volunteers to get involved in at the Youth Commission. Whether you are passionate about working with young people or are looking to gain knew skills and experiences, there is something for everyone. Volunteers across the Youth Commission work with young people and children to provide one to one emotional support through our Mentoring scheme, assist within our youth groups and attending community events such as the Shows and Liberation Day.
"Full training is provided as well as ongoing support."
The information events will be held at Les Ozouets Campus, and will consist of a short presentation and the opportunity to ask questions and find out more.
The Youth Commission itself is an independent local charity responsible for the delivery of all forms of youth work in the Bailiwick. It provides children and young people aged 4-25 with 'seamless access' to a range of universal and specialist services ensuring they can take part in activities or get the tailored support that is most relevant to their individual needs.
"The support of the local community is fundamental to the success of The Youth Commission and we rely on close partnerships with organisations and funders to continue to develop the services we offer."
