Work to repoint the Vazon sea wall will start on Monday 4 June, and is expected to take around 28 weeks in total.
This work forms part of the capital programme to repair, and where necessary upgrade, the existing coastal defence infrastructure.
The contractor appointed to carry out the works is Stoneworks Ltd. It will entail the repointing of the wall on both the seaward and landward sides of the area opposite La Grande Mare Hotel.
Traffic should not be affected, but there is likely to be some impact on parking in the area. The works will be programmed in a manner that should enable free access onto the beach during the summer months.
A spokesperson for Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management Services said the nature of the works was likely to give rise to dust and noise, but only during normal working hours.
"Users of the area are asked to be observant and follow all safety and information signs present on the site," it said.
"During the period of these works there will be scaffolding on the seaward side of the wall at all times."
People were urged to ensure no-one climbed on, swung from, jumped from or otherwise used this scaffolding and ensured children are supervised at all times around the scaffold as it was in a particularly dangerous zone of the tide.
