Industrial building in Valnord could become 10 flats

Tuesday 16 November 2021

A planning application has been submitted to convert a warehouse on Valnord Road into 10 flats with parking.

The existing building is a granite warehouse and has previously been used by a carpet supplier. It is located at the junction of Valnord Road and Valnord Hill.

The planning application requests permission for the top three floors to be made into one-bedroom and two-bedroom flats. It also proposes external landscaping and cycle storage for each flat.

A pre-application was originally submitted which included more properties than the 10 proposed in the current application. The number of properties proposed was reduced following advice from the States' Development & Planning Authority.

Tyrrell Dowinton Associates are the architects for the proposed development. They hope the project will be welcomed as positive investment in the area.

“We acknowledge that the conversion of the building to a residential development would positively contribute to St Peter Port main centre,” they said.
