Utopia Construction closes

Another of Guernsey's construction firms has closed, with liquidators appointed to manage arrangements for its creditors.

Utopia Construction Limited was a family run firm, with a small number of employees with different skill sets within the building industry.

Solve Limited has confirmed that Utopia Construction Limited was placed into members’ voluntary liquidation on 17 May 2023. The company ceased trading on the same date.

"We will be contacting the creditors of the company this week to advise them about the process and to invite them to submit their claims," said a spokesperson for Solve Limited. "The creditors meeting will be held on 14 June 2023." 

The spokesperson for Solve Limited also said "there is no connection to the Garenne Group companies" which has been affected by a string of liquidations in recent months with the impact felt across the local construction sector. 

They were unable to give any further details on the liquidation at this time.
