Parents of university students have been contacting Public Health for clarity on vaccinations for their children while they are out of the island.
Students from the Bailiwick of Guernsey are eligible for their covid vaccination in both Guernsey and the UK, but the vaccinations will not be brought forward to encompass this group.
Public Health is still vaccinating people in Phase 1 of the JCVI programme, focusing on cohort 5 and 6 at the moment. This means people over the age of 50 and those between 18 and 60 with underlying health conditions are being prioritised.

Students with no underlying health conditions, between the ages of 18 and 49, will have to wait until both the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the UK reach Phase 2 of the vaccination programme before they are offered the vaccine.

Students will be able to receive one dose of their vaccine in Guernsey and one in the UK if this situation arises.
