The Isle of Man has returned to its third lockdown following a concerning cluster of Covid-19 cases.
Schools, hospitality and non-essential businesses have been forced to shut again and people are being asked to start working from home if they can.
There are only two reasons leave the house in the Manx island; to exercise and for essential travel.
We have decided that we will be heading into a further circuit break. From 00:01 on Wednesday we will be putting in place – and legislating for – a set of clear measures. This will be for a period of 21 days. We will review this constantly. #COVID19 #IsleofMan pic.twitter.com/ntDImffGr2

The 21 day circuit breaker was triggered following a cluster of cases that have defied explanation in the island, with which we shared an air bridge last summer. The latest outbreak has seen an initial 40 people testing positive, with one case in a school. They have been loosely linked to a ferry crew member who tested positive on 18 February, but five unexplained cases continue to cause concern.
After further testing, the Isle of Man currently has 58 active cases.
In a post on Twitter, Deputy Gavin St Pier said his thoughts are with the Isle of Man and its citizens.

Positive steps are being taken in Guernsey as we move towards Stage 2 next Monday. Guernsey currently has 12 active cases.
