The Guernsey Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) is looking for up-and-coming politicians to attend the 9th Commonwealth Youth Parliament.

The event for young people aged between 18 and 29 will be held in Jersey, from 25 February to 1 March 2018, and Guernsey will be sending two representatives.

Over 60 people from across the Commonwealth will take part in the parliament, with them participating in question time, debates and votes on legislation and propositions.

There will also be educational sessions led by experienced parliamentary officials and networking opportunities.

Guernsey's CPA Branch is looking for two candidates who have an interest in current affairs and Commonwealth and parliamentary matters to attend on the island's behalf. They should be potential leaders with good communication skills and a sound understanding of how Guernsey’s government works. Candidates will be expected to take an active role in debates and proceedings at the event.
