Two Deputy Headteachers have been promoted to the top jobs at the Castel and St Martin’s Primary Schools.
Clare Giles of St Martin's Primary and Peter Curtis of Castel Primary will start their new roles in September.
Mrs Giles helped St Martin's Primary to gain the Gold Award for ‘Rights Respecting Schools’ and is supporting other schools in doing the same.
Mr Curtis coaches and mentors’ other staff at Castel and has led a number of successful academic initiatives in maths and assessment at the school.

“Both Clare and Peter have been key figures at their schools,” said the Vice-President of the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture, Deputy Bob Murray.
“This is a fantastic example of the breadth of leadership in our schools, and evidence of the very real possibilities for progression that exist for staff.”
Mrs Giles said her intention is to build on great work already done at St Martin's: “I am very focused on the job at hand as we seek to continually grow and improve on what is already a school to be proud of.”
Mr Curtis added: “It is a real honour to be able to take up the reins come September and I shall be working incredibly hard to maintain the high standards that have been set before me."
