The President of the States of Alderney has joined countless others in offering his condolences, following the tragic death of Tim Butler.

Tim was the Station Manager at Quay FM and well known in the island. He died in car accident while on holiday in Egypt.

“It is impossible to describe the shock that was felt throughout the Island at the tragic news of Tim’s untimely death,” said States President, William Tate.

“Tim was part of the very fabric of the Island. His contribution to the wellbeing of the Island has been in evidence for many years. Across multiple clubs and organisations he brought his infectious personality and unique take on life, to the benefit of everybody he shared his time with.

“He was just one of those people that made you feel better for knowing him.

“It will be heartbreaking for so many to tune in to the Quayfm Morning Show and not be greeted by his infectious personality. He was much loved by all who listened to his show. He will be a hard act to follow.

“Our hearts go out to Tim’s family. The community stand as one with them in these heartbreaking times.”
