If you feel like you might need to stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh air after yesterday's turkey extravaganza, islanders are gathering at Rousse Tower this morning for the Boxing Day Beach Clean.
Promising that breath of sea air, a walk and a wobble, the event is being run by Pick it Up Guernsey, the Guernsey Recycling Group, Galaxy, and the Marine Biology section of La Societe.
They said they have already collected over 500kg of litter from the island's beaches this year, and thanked everyone for helping to achieve that. But for the festive season, they wanted to make one final push.
A spokesperson for the event said: "It is the cumulative effect of human actions that damages our environment: but it is our collective effort that can protect it.
"Whatever you can do, no matter how small, makes a difference. We hope to see you at the Boxing Day Beach Clean, no need to bring anything expect yourself and a Christmas Jumper."
The organisers will be providing bags and gloves for people, who are asked to meet at 10:30 on the Rousse Headland.
