2,400 tickets were sold for the return of movie screenings on the top lawn at Castle Cornet, after a one-year pause due to the Island Games.
The Twilight Cinema showed 24 films to thousands of islanders over the past few weeks from Finding Nemo to the latest Top Gun and Thelma & Louise.
The States’ Heritage Services are hailing it as a success after half the showings sold out, with others near capacity.
It was the first year a back-up venue was prepared in case of inclement weather, with that contingency used once and the film was instead shown at Beau Sejour.
120 tickets were available for each film costing £6.
Helen Glencross, Head of Heritage Services, said changes made to the showings, including an early evening children's film followed by one for older audiences, proved a hit.
"We extended the event from previous years and showed a wider variety of films, which has encouraged more people to come along and enjoy the unique atmosphere, at one of the island’s most iconic landmarks,” she said.
"The event is a collaboration between staff at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre – including the technical, booking and planning, and front of house teams – as well as the visitor services team at Guernsey Museums, so my thanks, as always, to everyone involved in making the event a success."
The States have confirmed the event will return in 2025.
