Students across the Bailiwick received their A-Level results this morning, and the sixth form centres released their pass percentages for the year.
At Elizabeth College 72 students received results – 84% of grades at A* to C. There were some excellent individual successes with 11 students achieving three or more A*/A grade passes.
The Ladies College had a 100% pass rate, and the Grammar School had a 98.3%. Students at the College of Further Education also received results for their level three exams.
At Elizabeth College, Isaac Bates, 18, got the grades he needed to go and study history at Exeter.
“I got two A* and a B. I think after studying history at university, I will do a law conversion course – and history seemed a course which suited doing that. The worst bit about the exams was just not knowing how they were done. I’m not sure how I’ll celebrate today, I’ve got to go to work in a minute, but think I will join others in Town tonight.”

Elizabeth College Principal Jenny Palmer said: “I am really pleased with the A level results and the individual successes that many of our students have achieved, particularly as this is the first year of the return to a linear style of A level exam. This is a good set of results which reflects the comprehensive range of abilities at the College where a key focus is to encourage individuals to make the most of their skills, strengths and talents, whatever their background and capabilities.
“Elizabeth College is proud to have been an integral part of the Bailiwick’s education system for many hundreds of years and we look forward to continuing to serve Guernsey by producing well-qualified, flexible and capable young people who will contribute positively to the life and economy of the island”.
At The Ladies College, a 100% pass rate was achieved by 46 students Of the grades achieved, 35.3% were A* and A, 69.2% were A* to B, and 88.0% were A* to C.
Headteacher Ashley Clancy said: "The results are really good, we have 100% pass rate, which is amazing. There is talk with the new A levels that 100% pass rate may have been one of the things that we may not expect to achieve, so we are delighted that the girls have done that. I think what is really really thrilling is that they are all really happy with their results and they are going to study courses and do things that they want to do."
Vicky Mann was one of the students at the Ladies College receiving her results. She said: "I have done really well and I am really pleased as I have got into my first choice of University. I am going to Loughborough to study maths. I got three A's in maths, further maths and French, I am so happy that I got in.
"I have been a bit worried and last night was really feeling it but so pleased to have got in. Specially French as it is such a difficult subject. I have no idea what I want to do ultimately but something to do with numbers, hopefully it will come to me when I am at Uni. I am really sporty so that is good at Loughborough and it is really good for maths and it is a nice town. I am really excited."

Katie Owen, said: "I have done pretty good, better than expected and I got A, B, B. I have got in to the university I wanted to which is Sheffield Hallam to study phycology."
It achieved a pass rate of 98.3% with only one U grade across the year group.
"This year has been fantastic, the best results we have had a the school for ten years overall, really brilliant, lots of the headline measures up and particularly a relief actually as this year was the new year of the reform A Levels. They have been toughened up and are more rigorous, but the students and the staff have really risen to the challenge, so it is really pleasing and a bit of a relief."
"The pass rate is up to 98.3%, which means we only had one U grade, which is really very pleasing. The most staggering statistic for me is the fact that all grades, the percentage of A star to C grades was 90%, which is just really fantastic."

Thomas Harvey, said: "I've got A* in physics and an A in maths and further maths and I got into my first choice University option. I am going to Southampton to study physics. I am quite pleased as I was quite nervous coming in today as to what I was going to get as the grade boundaries are quite high and one simple mistake could slip up, so I am really pleased. I liked the physics course at Southampton, it looks interesting and some of the content looks good and I am pleased to be somewhere by the sea.
Meanwhile, Millie Forino, said she did not need her A levels for a university place or a job, but she was still pleased with her results.
"I am pleased, I got a B in media studies and a D in Religious studies and a C in sociology," she said.
"I am not going to University I am going to work for my dad in his showroom so I didn't really need anything, but I am pleased I did well as I have always got the option later if I need to go to University."
