St James calls for submissions to art competition

Tuesday 14 July 2020

Local artists are invited to take part in the Fox Open Art Competition for 2020.

The competition is open to any Guernsey artists from age 12 and up, with paintings, prints and collages accepted up to a maximum size of 1 metre sq.

Originally conceived in 1983 by the late Jock Russell to promote the newly constructed Jersey Arts Centre, the Fox Open Art competition has blossomed into a Channel-Islands-wide affair, with the Guernsey competition run separately by St. James.

This year, the competition will be judged by Chris Mould, an award-winning illustrator who has illustrated for Matt Haig’s children’s books, as well as theatre posters and satirical cartoons for national newspapers.

Submissions for the competition are open until September 15. Participants are invited to email fiona@stjames.gg to receive an entry form.
