Deputy Heidi Soulsby has resigned from Guernsey’s most senior political committee, criticising the other members on the way out.
The Policy & Resources Committee has confirmed her decision today in a statement issued this afternoon.
Deputy Soulsby said: “It has been obvious for quite a while that my views and advice have not been valued by some on the Committee and I think there is little point in me continuing in the hope that things may get better.
“I thank you personally for inviting me on to the Committee after the last election. However, two years on, I now believe I will be able to make more of a positive contribution to the future of Guernsey outside of the Committee.”
The Bailiff has been informed, and Deputy Soulsby will continue in her role until a new member is appointed.

This is the first resignation from the States' senior committee since it was formed in 2016.
Responding to her decision, Deputy Peter Ferbrache, President of the Policy & Resources, said: “I’m sorry to receive Deputy Soulsby’s letter of resignation but I respect her decision. I want to express my thanks to her as I believe she has made a valuable contribution to this Committee in the last two years."
The remaining members of P&R have declined to comment until further notice.
