A stray snake, which must have fancied a night out in St Peter Port, has been rescued from a sea front restaurant.
GSPCA wardens were called out during the evening of Bank Holiday Monday 7 May, to collect the reptile which was reported to the animal charity by concerned restaurant staff.
The snake, which was named Kelloggs by the restaurant's staff, was found to be a small and young Ghost Corn snake. It is now being kept in a vivarium at the GSPCA animal shelter in St Andrews and the charity is looking for its owner.
The call itself was made just after 20:00 when the snake was first discovered, with the GSPCA Night Wardens dispatched to collect it. The charity has since confirmed this was the fourth incident of its staff being called to collect a stray reptile during the last week.
"I'm not sure if its the warm weather but we have had four stay reptiles in at the GSPCA in the last week," Manager Steve Byrne said.
"We still have Debbie the stray bearded dragon (pictured above) and now have Kelloggs (pictured top). If anyone has any information please call us on 257261. If not claimed in 21 days, Debbie and Kelloggs will also need a new home, but hopefully we can find their owners."
Debbie was found at the nature trail at Cobo last Thursday evening.
Two stray tortoise that were also rescued by the GSPCA have already been claimed by their owners.
