The newly Knighted Bailiff is hoping more people will be inspired to nominate others for national honours after the news that he was among four people across the Bailiwick to be given awards in the King's birthday honours list.
Sir Richard McMahon was knighted, while Dave Warr received an OBE, Alan Gough the MBE and Kevin Adams the BEM.
The 2023 birthday honours were announced on Friday night.
Sir Richard said he was very proud and pleased to receive his honour, but also wants other people to be awarded for their efforts for the communities across the Bailiwick.
"Nominations for national honours come to me (through the Bailiff's Chambers) and then we have a process that means we sift the nominations we get," he explained.
"I do hope that people will continue to put forward any member of the community, whether it be here in Guernsey, in Alderney or Sark where it is a slightly different process, If they think that there's someone that deserves recognition.
"We're blessed with people who do wonderful things and therefore let's have as many nominations as possible - it's better to have too many than too few."
The four Bailiwick recipients of the 2023 birthday honours were at Government House on Saturday for a toast to King Charles III on the occasion of the official celebration of his 74th birthday.

Sir Richard said he was in good company with the other honours recipients who were awarded for their services to the community through charity endeavours, music and more.
He said there are many other people who are also worthy of such awards.
"We're incredibly fortunate to live somewhere so nice and to have such a positive sense, on the whole, across the community - there are always certain elements that breed negativity, but on the whole people put themselves up. The voluntary sector across all three islands is immense. Without them where would we all be?"
The process of making a nomination can be quite lengthy but Sir Richard said it is worth it.
"There is a form that gets completed and it's up to whoever is making the nomination how much information they provide. Clearly the more information the better because people will then look at it and decide whether it's appropriate or not.
"It does take time - on the whole it's not a case of you ask on day one and they say yes on day seven, but I am keen to encourage people to think seriously about making nominations."
"I could not have achieved what we have without quite a few other people"
“It’s just great bringing people together to make music”
