Channel Islands Ceramics has gone into administration.
The bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, tiles, and homeware supplier has been operating since 1978, currently from a purpose built showroom on Forest Road.
But the administrator Begbies Traynor said that since the COVID-19 pandemic, the company had experienced increasingly severe financial pressures as a result of the difficult trading conditions.

“By taking the decision to place C.I.C. Limited and Channel Islands Ceramics Limited into administration, Channel Islands Ceramics is looking to secure a sound financial footing for the future and is confident of a positive resolution to the current difficulties,” a statement from the administrator said.
“It has always been the utmost priority for Channel Island Ceramics to engage well with its talented staff, invaluable sub-contractors and the wider community. It will continue to be a positive influence for all its stakeholders and they remain its primary concern.
“The business understands that today’s news may cause alarm, but it respectfully requests a short period of patience and trust, as it works hard with the Joint Administrators to find the right solution that is in the interests of all stakeholders.”
The Royal Court order placing the company in administration was made yesterday.

Less than a week ago CI Ceramics’ Facebook page was promoting homeware sale items.
And it was only on 14 August that it announced the winners of its colouring competition at the Rocquaine Regatta saying “there will be another competition next year!”
The business was founded by John Litchfield, who is listed as Managing Director.
Nine other staff members, many with long histories with the company working in design, sales and installations are listed on the company’s website.
