Have you ever wanted to bring the childhood fantasy of your bathtub being a ship out on the open waves to life? Well today might be your day, as the Guernsey Yacht Club are once again hosting their bathtub race.
The race, on the model yacht pond, will also give people not so keen on seafaring the chance to get involved, as outside interference in the form of water pistols and water bombs is also encouraged.
Kicking off at 10:00, racers can either have booked in advance, or turn up today and pay for a slot. But each bathtub will be built with one design, conforming with stringent BTRC rules, fitted with oppie rigs.
The Yacht Club have hosted the event for some time now to raise money for the RNLI, Channel Islands Air Search and Guernsey Sailing Trust. The entrance fee will also include hot chocolate or hot toddy after the event.
Anyone is welcome to come and join in, or just watch the event unfold between 10:00 and 14:00. For more information, go to the Facebook event here.
