Another Second World War bomb has been detonated off the White Rock Pier.
It was discovered just hours after an anti-submarine weapon was detonated in a controlled explosion yesterday afternoon. Local divers discovered the first unexploded wartime weapon last week, around 550-metres outside the White Rock.
Following its detonation by a team of specially-trained Royal Navy crew, another unexploded weapon was found around 600 metres north east of the Pier.

A 200 metre exclusion zone was re-established around the freshly-uncovered ordnance ahead of its detonation just after 09:00 this morning.
This was carried out by the Navy dive team, which inspected the object earlier this morning and seized a weather and tidal window for its detonation.
