The 16th annual Torteval Scarecrow Festival begins today with lots of new, inventive and topical creations dotted around the parish lanes.
The trail takes around an hour and a half to walk, starting from Torteval Church.
Those that complete the route will be asked to vote for their favourite out of more than sixty scarecrow entries at the end.
There will be more family entertainment on offer throughout the weekend though with a tea tent, bouncy castles, ice-cream, candy floss and bric-a-brac. The Belles and Broomsticks will perform and, as long as it is not needed for an emergency, a fire engine is expected to turn up this afternoon.
A number of classic cars will also be on display at the site, along with Little Joey, Pets' Corner and, on Sunday afternoon, the Old Tractor Club.

Parking is free as always, although there is an entry cost of £1.50 for adults and 50p for children.
Bus routes 91, 92, 93 and 94 will run to and from the site over the two days.
The festival will be open to everyone between 10:00 and 17:00 today and tomorrow.
