Sark will hold its first contested election for five years later this year.
Sark's government - Chief Pleas - has always struggled to find people willing to become Conseillers, with several uncontested elections and by-elections in recent years.
However, the speaker of Chief Pleas Paul Armorgie has recently announced that Sark will hold its first contested election in five years on 7 September this year.
"We have received four nominations for the By-Election to elect three Conseillers to Chief Pleas.
"Voting will take place from 10:00 to 18:00 in the single Polling Station on the Island; located in the Toplis Room at the Sark Island Hall. The count will also take place on 7 September between 19:00 and 22:00 in the main Island Hall. I expect to announce the results at about 22:00."
The candidates for the three positions of Conseiller are: Rosemary Couldridge, Christopher Bateson, Benjamin Harris and James Martin.
Chief Pleas aims for a total of 18 elected Conseillers.
