Guernsey Waste is urging people to check when their rubbish and recycling will be picked up with some collection dates shifting over the holiday period.
Information is available at www.gov.gg/mybinnight or through the parishes.
Longue Hougue will also be open to drop off any recycling and waste up until 15:00 on Christmas Eve, with the site reopening on Friday 27 December. It will also close at 15:00 on New Year's Eve.
The site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, and on Thursday 2nd January.
Full opening times for all waste sites over the holiday period can be found at www.gov.gg/wasteopeningtimes.
Waste Minimisation and Sustainability Office Douglas Button said: "This is the peak time of the year for waste and recycling, so we are encouraging everyone to be conscious of what they are producing, and reduce, reuse and recycle as much as they can.
"To help, we provide a lot of information on our website gov.gg/recycling, Facebook, 'X' (formally Twitter) and Instagram throughout the Christmas and New Year period.
"We are really proud of islanders' efforts and last year we recycled more than 68% of our household waste which is a phenomenal achievement and puts us up there with the very best.''
