Momentous year for Val des Terres Everest Challenge

Saturday 27 March 2021

The 2021 Everest Challenge saw a record-breaking number of people take part, and a record-breaking amount of money raised.

75 teams entered the challenge; participants walked and ran 115 circuits of Le Val des Terres and climbed the height of Mount Everest to raise money for the Sarah Groves Foundation.

42 solo entries to the challenge brought the total amount of people taking part to 650. mount_everest_stock.jpg

The money raised will be used by the Foundation to give donations to the Guernsey Youth Commission and the Guernsey Sports Commission.

A presentation evening will take place at 16:00 next Saturday at the Dorset Arms and everyone involved in the event has been invited to attend.

Sarah Groves’ parents, Kate and Vic, said: "Just a few days from now, on 6 April 2021, we mark the eight anniversary of her death and, thanks to the efforts of everyone who knew Sarah and to everyone who is associated with the Sarah Groves Foundation, her memory lives on as strongly and positively as it ever has – thank you one and all for making that possible.”
