Queen honours two Bailiwick residents

Friday 28 December 2018

Two Bailiwick residents have been included in Her Majesty The Queen's New Year Honours this year.

Her Majesty has awarded Adrian Malcolm Le Page an MBE and Patricia Ann Holland the BEM for their contributions to the community, both in Guernsey and overseas.

Mr Le Page was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to rugby in Guernsey.

He is President of the Guernsey Raiders, having been involved with the Club for many years.

Mrs Holland was awarded the British Empire Medal for her charitable work. She has helped many people in both Guernsey and Romania.

She has previously worked in child care and among other responsibilities has also sat on the States Housing Appeal Panel. Her work with the Guernsey Friends of Romania secured her BEM though, with Mrs Holland and her husband, Wilf, giving up their time to take donated items to needy children in Romania among other commitments.

His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor said he was pleased to announce the Bailiwick recipients of this year's New Year Honours.
