A meeting is reportedly being held this evening where some of Guernsey's senior politicians will discuss "common values, objectives and 'next steps'" with invited guests.
Bailiwick Express Guernsey has seen part of the email which was sent to a select group of people, and we have asked Deputy Gavin St Pier to answer some questions regarding the meeting, its aims and who will be in attendance but so far we have not had a reply. We will update this article once he has had the chance to do so.
The President of the Policy and Resources Committee is speaking in the monthly States meeting this morning on a number of topics, including presenting the island's latest financial update. However, he and the Health and Social Care President are both understood to be focusing on work that they have called "Future Guernsey" which includes contributions from elected and non elected individuals.
Continuing to develop concept with @HeidiSoulsby under working name of ‘Future Guernsey.’ Over 50 from outside States of Deliberation have contacted us in last month interested in organised politics in Guernsey. Keep interest coming.

Tonight's meeting is understood to be being held at Les Cotils. The invitation is not understood to be open to members of the public.

This evening's meeting follows the introduction of Charter 2018. Those behind that initiative say it is not a precursor to party politics in Guernsey, it is rather a group of "like minded individuals" working under a set of shared values.
