Police warning over Covid-19 prank messages

Friday 09 October 2020

A prankster claiming to be 'Jennifer from the Princess Elizabeth Hospital' has been sending text messages to people saying they have received a positive Covid-19 test.

The message is a hoax and those who receive it have been told to ignore it, as it is fake.

"Please rest assured, we categorically never give out any positive test results via text messages," said a spokesman for the States.

"If you receive one of these text messages please ignore it, it is fake news.

"If you have any concerns about your results, please contact Public Health on 01481 725241."
