A woman was attacked by a dog in St. Martin's early on Thursday morning.
Police are looking for the owner of the dog.
They are also appealing for anyone who witnessed or has information about the attack to contact them.
Police said: "About 6:30am on Thursday 17 February a woman was walking along Saumerez Road, near the junction of Brooke Lane, St. Martin's when a German Shepherd dog jumped up and bit her on the chest.
"The dog was being walked by a male described as being in his 60s, wearing a high visibility grey jacket and walking the dog with two chains.
"Police are seeking witnesses to this incident and the owner of the dog.
"If you have any information regarding this incident, you are asked to contact PC 18 Russell Winslade on 222 222 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
