Police and border agency attend school

Monday 01 July 2019

Guernsey Police and Border Agency were called to La Mare de Carteret school when a student was allegedly found in possession of an unspecified amount of cannabis.

The incident took place last Tuesday during school hours, with the States of Guernsey Education Service releasing a further statement giving additional details.

The spokesperson said:

"We can confirm we had an incident involving a student allegedly in possession of cannabis this week. We have informed parents that Police and a Guernsey Border Agency dog handler attended. We know our parents support the school in ensuring that all our children are safe and we do all we can to protect them. In working together with the Police, strong action is important to act as a deterrent and keep your children safe. This will include follow up work with the students on drugs awareness."
