The CI Coop want to replace the now defunct Guernsey Post counter with a pharmacy in its Market Building store.
A planning application has been submitted to refit the section of the store to create a new pharmacy section, removing existing fittings and the post counter.
If approved, the new area would offer dispensing services, and there’ll be a one-to-one consultation room and facilities for the safe cold storage of medicines.
The design would leave the former fish market features on show within the historic and significant building.
The post office counter closed for good on 12 April, with services to expand from the Guernsey Information Centre in the coming weeks.
St Peter Port will lose one of its post offices; other opening times to reduce
