A petition has been launched in opposition to the 30-metre-high pylons at La Grande Mare, with more than 100 signatures already.
The pylons have been erected as part of the multi-million pound redevelopment of La Grande Mare golf course, and will support netting around the driving range.
The tall structures have received criticism not only from people who live nearby but politicians too.
Went for a swim by Richmond Kiosk yesterday evening. Cycling home up Gele road and then through Kings Mills I was genuinely shocked by the scale of the new pylons for the Grande Mare driving range. They ain't going to be undone I suppose but they look very ugly.

I have to say I was truly shocked at the sight of the La Grande Mare pylons as I was cycling along the Dos D’Âne yesterday.

Now a petition has been launched by Sheena Annan on change.org
More than 100 people have signed the petition so far and dozens of people have voiced their concern.
“It’s a monstrosity,” said one person, “I think it’s obvious why I’m signing.”
A second person said “they are completely spoiling the area”.
The President of the Development and Planning Authority has been reported to have said that the pylons are “awful” but that planning permission would not be revoked.
