Permission pending for eight new town flats

Tuesday 13 February 2024

A building on Victoria Road could be demolished and make way for eight new one- and two- bedroom flats if planning permission is granted.

An application from Mr & Mrs D Carre seeks to redevelop 41-43 Victoria Road in St Peter Port, which falls within a Main Centre under the Island Development Plan.

They want to demolish the dilapidated buildings on site and erect two linked classic style buildings two and half storeys tall above a basement parking area.

An equal number of each type of flat is proposed, as well as an internal lift for accessibility.

One car parking space is provided for each unit.

The plot falls within a conservation area.

Planning permission was granted for a similar scale scheme a decade ago, while in 2022 a bigger 12-flat development was rejected by planners.
