Anyone who saw more classic cars than usual on the roads last weekend witnessed part of 'treasure hunt style run" around the island.
The Guernsey Old Car Club participated in a busy weekend of events to mark its milestone anniversary.
The weekend started with a 'grand dinner' at the OGH with over 80 members. Members then got an early start on Saturday morning as they drove around the island seeking out the numbers on Guernsey Post Boxes which could be added up to 1969, the club's inaugural year.
A 50th birthday cake was part of the celebrations.
The theme was chosen as the States of Guernsey took over the running of postal services from the British Government in October of that year.
They met up again on Sunday morning, and embarked on another "treasure hunt style run" around the island, which saw cars heading off in all directions before ending up at Government House for a ‘posh’ picnic, with Sir Ian Corder bringing out his Cobra and the official Rolls-Royce.
"It was a truly memorable weekend with perfect weather," said club member Jean Bishop.
Around 50 cars parked in a crescent on the lawns of Government House, while around 100 members and their guests set up their picnics in the grounds.
"We hope the Guernsey public enjoyed seeing such a variety of cars driving around the island and it should be noted several of our members don’t actually own ‘old’ cars at all, but are of course interested.
"Any age of car is welcomed into the fold from Edwardian, right through the decades to much more recent classics."
