Households in St Peter Port and St Sampson should put out their waste or recycling as normal this weekend, with the domestic green waste site at Chouet open on Bank Holiday Monday.
Collections in the two parishes are unaffected and should be set out for pick-up on Sunday night.
There are no changes to collections in other parishes.
But the recycling centre at Longue Hougue will be shut on Monday, as well as the commercial sites of Mont Cuet and land reclamation.
The garden waste area at Chouet will be open on Monday between 10:00 and 16:00.
Guernsey Waste has also announced that the site will open earlier on Fridays until the end of British Summer Time to account for increased demand.
The gates will now open at 09:30 on those days, rather than the usual 10:00.
Guernsey Waste Minimisation & Sustainability Officer Douglas Button said it is not possible to open earlier on other days since the site needs to be cleared each morning, with the facility shut on Thursdays to allow for a more thorough clearing.
“Most people are still choosing to use the site in the morning, especially Friday mornings which can cause queues,” he said.
“We would encourage Islanders to make use the of the later opening time of 6pm on weekdays - excluding Thursdays - to avoid having to queue.”
