Travellers from Jersey will need a negative PCR test before travelling here because of the island's spiralling Covid-19 situation.
Any travellers not able to do so will be treated as Category 4 and will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.
The Civil Contingencies Authority has agreed this new measure - which it says is "temporary" - in light of rising cases in Jersey and the recent change in policy for direct contacts of cases in Jersey. Under current modelling, the number of known positive cases in Jersey could increase by as many as 500 per day.
The requirement for pre-travel testing will begin on Monday in order to give those due to travel enough time to source a PCR test and receive the result.

In the interim, the ‘Blue’ channel from Jersey will fall away and all fully vaccinated arrivals will need a border test, following by self-isolation until they receive a negative result, and another test on Day 7 if they are in Guernsey that long.
Full details of those requirements can be found HERE. The normal charge for testing as part of Category 2 for travellers from Jersey will be waived for this 72-hour period.
Currently around 9% of Jersey’s population have been caught in the contact tracing net as a direct contact.
The CCA has decided to apply this additional measure, described previously as a ‘Public Health Override’, requiring all arrivals from Jersey to receive a negative PCR test from a swab taken 48 hours or less before their travel.
