13-year-old Evie Langlois has been chosen as the winner of this year's 'Poppy Bus' design competition.

The schoolgirl saw her winning image unveiled on the back of the bus yesterday, on the 106th anniversary of the end of World War One.

Evie, and other students from La Mare de Carteret High School, had entered the competition, with second place being awarded to Isaiah Grace aged 15, and third place won by Sophie McCreight aged 14.

Lucas Robins won a 'Special Mention' for his design.

As well as seeing her design on the 'Poppy Bus', Evie won £50 of arts vouchers while her school was given £100 of arts vouchers.

All four young people were given an Explore Guernsey by Bus mug and a family pass.

A spokesperson for CT Plus said: "Many thanks to the students from La Mare de Carteret for taking part in the Design a Poppy Competition.

"All the entries we received were excellent and it was no easy task choosing a design for the 106th Armistice Anniversary."

Evie's winning design is now on the 'Poppy Bus', which was driven to La Mare de Carteret school yesterday for everyone to see and is now back in public service.
