Food outlets could be returned to empty units in the Market Buildings.
Currently they are classed for general retail, but McAuley (Market Buildings) Ltd want to see them permitted for food retail purposes.
It’s also proposed to subdivide unit five into two spaces, with one to be used by Guernsey Tourism as an information centre under the existing general retail use.
That would only occupy the ground floor space, while the remainder of the unit would be split off to host a food outlet over two floors with a small upstairs kitchen.
It was most recently tenanted by Holland & Barrett.
Six and seven are a combined unit across three levels, with the basement to be used for cooking and storage purposes, with the two upper floors for customer use.
It has previously been tenanted by Gourmet Burger Kitchen and a bar.
All units fall within the Les Arcades section of the site, and also the Core Retail Area of St Peter Port under the Island Development Plan.
The applications are listed ONLINE as FULL/2024/0864 and FULL/2024/0947.
