A new Chairperson has been appointed to the States Members' Conduct Panel, after Judy Beaugeard, the current senior member, has retired.
Mrs Beaugeard has served as a member on the panel since 2007, and the Bailiff, Sir Richard Collas, thanked her for her service as both a member and a Chairperson.
The Very Reverend John Guille is replacing her as the new Chairperson.
The States' Members Conduct Panel investigates complaints referred to it in accordance with the procedures set out in the Code of Conduct for Members of the States of Deliberation.
Under Section 21 of the Code of Conduct, the appointment of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and the eight ordinary members on the panel is the job of the Presiding Officer: the Bailiff. Sir Richard was the one to chose Reverend Guille for the role. He has been on the panel since March 2017.
"It has been a privilege to serve on the Conduct Panel since 2017 and I am honoured to have been appointed by the Presiding Officer of the States as the new Chairman. I look forward to chairing it," Reverend Guille said.
The Bailiff also thanks him for agreeing to serve in the role.
