St Peter Port will be transformed into an interactive, virtual Cluedo board this June, as we're going to get the chance at cracking a 'whodunit' murder case.
Dubbed as a cross between Pokemon-Go and the popular board game Cluedo, people will be able to use Augmented Reality to hunt around Town locating 15 virtual witnesses, solving clues, eliminating suspects with the eventual aim of catching the real killer.
The story of the event is written by critically acclaimed novelist and screenwriter Nick Brown, ‘The Latest Krays’ finds us back in 1967, with the infamous Kray brothers found murdered in the street.
Taking place via CluedUpp’s award-winning mobile phone app, the event will see teams of between two and six players competing to unveil the murderer on Saturday 2 June, with prizes up for grabs for the fastest team, best fancy dress (optional), best team picture, best team name, best little detective for kids, and best K9 detective.
“We’ve run over 80 events in the past 2 years, with over 20,000 detectives playing across the UK and Ireland and we are delighted to be working in association with Take a Left Productions to bring the game to the Channel Islands for the very first time," CluedUpp's owner, Tref Griffiths, said.
Joshua Black from Take a Left Productions who are organising the event in the island, added: “I’d heard from friends in the UK how much fun they had playing CluedUpp and thought that it would work really well over here as part of our mission to bring a wide variety of different events to Guernsey."
A recent CluedUpp event in Milton Keynes sold out within just five days and an upcoming event in Rochester already has more than 600 players lined up to play - but this is the first event of its kind in the Channel Islands and the organisers said they'e "hoping for a similarly high turnout".
Tickets for the event went on sale on Friday 6 April for £30 per team.
