Maurepas Road bollards used to smash car windows

Friday 09 October 2020

Police are investigating after street bollards in Maurepas Road were badly damaged on two separate occasions - the second of which saw them used to vandalise a car.

The first incident happened at the road's junction with Longfield Estate between 04:00 and 05:00 on 13 September, when a number of street bollards were damaged. Unknown vandals removed them from their bases, exposing the wires beneath.

A similar act of vandalism was then carried out between 19:00 on 28 September and 07:40 the following day, however this time the bollards were used to break the side windows of a nearby vehicle.

Officers would like to speak anyone who has any information with regards to either incident.

Anyone who can help the investigation is asked to contact PC 17 Kusimo on 725111 or CrimeStoppers Anonymous on 0800 555 111.
