Wednesday 29 May 2024

A 42-year-old man has been charged in relation to the Vale Service Station incident and appeared in court this morning [29 May].

Guernsey Police said the arrest was made overnight by officers in a statement to the media.

The incident occurred in the early hours of 30 April inside the garage where a member of staff was assaulted, later hospitalised, while the perpetrator attempted to break into a safe.

Police treated it as an aggravated burglary and said it was a “particularly violent offence”.

A 24-year-old man was arrested days later but was then bailed and wasn’t charged.
