Long-serving anaesthetist to leave the MSG

Sunday 05 March 2023

Consultant anaesthetist Dr Jim Chandler leaves the Medical Specialist Group this month after 17 years of service for patients.

Dr Chandler joined the MSG in 2006 from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, USA.

There, he worked as a consultant cardiothoracic anaesthesiologist and intensive care physician.

As well as working in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine, he also served for several years as the lead governance partner for the MSG, working to ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care.

He said he was privileged to care for the people of Guernsey: “I would like to thank all my patients of the past 17 years. I’m looking forward now to my new role with Jersey General Hospital which I will commute to from my home here in Guernsey."

MSG Chair, Dr Steve Evans added: “I’d like to thank Dr Jim Chandler for his many years of service in Guernsey as an anaesthetist and as lead governance partner and to wish him all the best in his new role in Jersey.

“He will be much missed by his colleagues and patients.”
